Wrapping Up Court Reporting Week

To end National Court Reporting and Captioning Week the right way, we asked a few court reporters some of their funniest and most interesting stories. We interviewed some of our reporters, asking some questions including, “Name the funniest thing that has ever happened to you” and “Name a time when working when you were honestly caught speechless.”

As you can imagine, these questions prompted some interesting responses. We have compiled a list of our favorite responses below:

-“You have to love what you do, and you need to always be prepared for something unforeseen… One story that comes to mind was when someone entered the courtroom talking about how ready they were to go home after their trial and drink the night away. It was all on the record, too.” –Juanita

-“One of the more interesting parts of my job is seeing the same attorneys I saw 30 years ago. The even more interesting part is that I am beginning to see their children follow in their parents’ footsteps, trying to carry on the family name. That is one of my favorite parts of working with Orange Legal.” –Tony

-“One time a witness threw up in the middle of a deposition. Honestly, I had no idea what to do.” -Anonymous

Orange Legal is proud of how far we have come in the past 30 years, but we also know there is no way we could’ve made it this far if it weren’t for our amazing reporters. Happy National Court Reporting & Captioning Week to all you reporters out there!
