For the past four years, the National Court Reporters Association has held the tradition of Court Reporting & Captioning Week. Setting aside the third week in February was established with the intent to celebrate all involved in building this profession to the level it has become. Court Reporting and Captioning Week has served as a way to bring awareness to the profession and inspire others to engage in the challenging and rewarding career so many know and love.
Years ago when you were asked what a court reporter was, most people visualized some sort of a news reporter, a reporter for specific court cases, or some sort of media junkie trying to catch that one solid lead in a case. What so many people do not realize are the several roles court reporters must play to leverage their abilities to translate voice to text instantaneously.
Over the past few years, court reporting as a career has exploded in popularity and is one of the professions in our country that is constantly hiring new employees. The unforeseen explosion of this industry has allowed many people to fulfill their dreams, constantly being able to find work and creating their own work schedule, which is a huge contributor to the growth of the industry.
Here at Orange Legal, every week is Court Reporting & Captioning Week. We are proud to work with the wonderful court reporters who have helped us build this company from the ground up and are so thrilled to have been given the opportunity to work with such wonderful people.
As independent contractors, reporters are encouraged to work with multiple court reporting agencies and are given the freedom to create their own schedules; but Orange Legal makes it difficult to say no!
